Biography
Jocelyn Keays (she/her) is a Filipina-Canadian photo-based artist living in Ottawa, Ontario. She is a graduate of Algonquin College's photography program, and of the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa’s Photographic Arts and Production program, with recognition of high achievement in lighting. In 2018, she co-founded the Ottawa Photography and Art Label (OPAL), a biannual visual arts publication that promotes and publishes contemporary national and international artists.
Mainly using contemporary and historic photographic processes in her current practice, with an emotional and romantic approach, she explores the ideas of human thought and reaction to banal life.
Keays' work is held in both private and institutional collections.
